Beautiful and rare pair of console-shaped fountains made during the 17th century. Made out of carved stone, basins are based on two carved sphinxes (See our article about the sphinx ). The basins are delicately carved in low relief with masks and three superimposed friezes: roses intertwined with ribbons, grooves and stylized palmettes.
The base is made of marble stone.
Red marble background was realized later than 17th century.
