This Louis XV style cast iron fireback was made in the 19th century.
Two monkeys are sitting pedestals, on each sides of a bouquet of flowers.
This theme is inspired by “ Chinoiseries ” and singeries (Monkey Trick), which were very fashionable during the first part of the 18th century.
