Pair of andirons with dogs

These two andirons are decorated with dogs facing each other in a symmetrical way. They are sitting, but seem to be getting up. The mastiffs are wearing collars around their necks, showing that they are domesticated. They each stand on a relatively high base. The andirons bars are exceptionally adorned: consisting of two horizontal bars placed one above the other, they are topped by a pine cone just behind the dogs; the space in between is partially filled by a frieze of geometric patterns
