In good condition. Restoration on the frieze. Light stains.
This Louis XVI style fireplace was made in the 19th century.
Its refined lines and the white Carrara marble give it a remarkable lightness.
The two half-columns with Corinthian capitals and the head of Hermes in the center of the entablature make a discreet reference to the Antiquity, while the row of pearls anchors the style in the elegance of the 18th century.
Messenger of the gods, Hermes is also the guide of all paths, as well as the protector of business and luck.
The frieze is ornated with a fine raw of pearls.
This fireplace is sold with an antique cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor ; this one could be made to order.
