This antique Louis XVI style fireplace was made out of Serravezza marble during the 19th century. The entablature is fluted along its length, each flute is decorated with an asparagus head made of finely chiselled gilded bronze. The curved feet are also decorated with bronze square rosettes and a thin row of bronze pearls. Marble Serravezza is a marble on a cream background with large blue veins turning into purple.
This antique fireplace is sold with a cast iron insert and its original hearth.
