Louis XV style mantel of “Pompadour” inspiration carved in Carrara marble, but here, the jambs are canted and follow a corbel design. The tops are scrolled as are the heads. All the surfaces including the entablature are paneled, with deep grooves, which add volume. The very refined cast iron insert decorated with rinceaux, floral and shell elements, is original.
