This beautiful antique Louis XV style fireplace richly decorated was made in the 19th century in a beautiful Carrara marble, marble highly popular for its whiteness and its brilliance. The winding jambs are decorated with acanthus leaves at the feet and shells at the top. They support a curved frieze where medallions are surrounded by delicately carved panels. In the center is a large foliated shell, characteristic of the Rococo style.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
