This beautiful Louis XVI style fireplace was made during the 19th century out of white Carrara marble. The carved decor of this fireplace presents a rare quality. The entablature is carved in low relief across its whole surface: a quiver and an arch are intertwined with laurel branches. The canted jambs are highly curved in their upper part, which is enhanced by a carved oak leaf. Carved with fluting decorated with a wound ribbon, the feet of this fireplace are also slightly curved towards the bottom.
The heads of the jambs are deocrated with square rosettes characteristic of the Louis XVI style.
The sides of this fireplace are paneled.
This fireplace is sold with a cast iron insert but without any marble floor. A marble floor could be made to order.
