This mantel follows a very rare model of the Restauration mantel with columns, which was highly regarded in the 19th century. The dark color of the Belgium granite enhances the extremely sober lines of the composition with its round columns supporting a very protruding shelf. The slightly curved entablature adds an additional touch of elegance and refinement.
