The rectangular shape of the frame of this mantel calls to mind the classical works of the Louis XII and Louis XIV periods. The large Bolection molding, typical of the Louis XIV style, which runs along the jambs and the entablature gives its name to this type of mantel. On either side, other more discreet moldings unfold. The jambs support a rather high entablature that is adorned with a central rectangular feature inlaid in red marble and carved with diamond facets. This striking detail males this mantel very original. The inlay is framed in a series of moldings and flanked at either end by flutings, similar to those of an acroterion.
This fireplace is sold without any insert nor marble floor but they can be made to order.
