This richly and intricately carved Louis XV style fireplace was made in the 19th century in Carrara marble.
Both the front and the scrolled angled jambs are carved with floral and rocaille ornaments. The central cartouche and the endblocks are decorated with boldly shell and acanthus foliage.
The original cast iron insert is ornamented with shell, foliages, scrollwork on a gridded background.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert, but without its marble floor. It can be made to order.
