Superb Louis XV style mantel in Breche d’ Alep marble from the 19th century. The curved lines of the hearth opening feature a molding that both emphasizes the structure of the mantel and the decoration of the entablature. The front bears a central shell framed by a cartouche of curled foliage in recessed panels. Crowned with scrolls, the heads are adorned with upside down shells from which trophies of bell flowers hang down upon curved jambs adorned with semi-filleted flutes rising from scrolls.
This model is characteristic of the Louis XV style because of its architecture and decoration.
This fireplace is sold without any insert nor marble floor but they can be made to order.
