Louis XVI style mantel from the 19th century with a decor using pure antique architectural motifs. The straight jambs are adorned with deeply fluted pilasters, filleted at the bottom. The front frieze centers on a round floral shape known as a “sun”, flanked by finely carved panels with recessed moldings. This model already popular at the end of the18th century, became a classic in the following century. This mantel was carved in Red marble from the North. An iron insert scattered with daisies is included.
This fireplace is sold without cast iron insert and without marble floor. We can remake the sides of the fireplace.
