This exceptionally beautiful and rare Louis XVI style antique fireplace in semi-statuary Carrara marble was made in the 19th century. The carved decoration is extremely refined: the entablature is adorned across the entire surface with realistic-looking flowers, all of which are different. The curved jambs are adorned with acanthus leaves and a thin line of pearls.
The sides of this fireplace are panelled.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This could be made to order.
