This antique Louis XVI style fireplace is rather rare and exceptional. Made during the 19th century out of a superb Statuary Carrara marble, this fireplace is the result of highly skilled carving. The jambs are made up of semi columns that are fluted, tapered, fileted and decorated with asparagus heads. The semi columns are surmounted with carved capitals. The entablature is slightly curved and carved with a line of pearls.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
