This large Louis XVI style trumeau was made in the late 19th century of wood and stucco painted in white and grey.
The mirror is framed with a pearls frieze and a ribbon one and is surmounted by a pediment on which is represented in relief a trophy of music in a roses crown surrounding. This decoration is quite habitual on the Louis XV and Louis XVI paneled rooms and furniture, it symbolizes the art of music. We especially see on this one a violin, a harp, a flute and castanets.
