Wrought iron bracket from Large Louis XIV period

From the second period of the reign of Louis XIV, this large bracket is beautifully balanced. A broad curve connects the vertical post to the horizontal one, whilst the volutes complete this feature. Corolla shaped foilage falls from the centre and ends in a “pig’s tail”. Beautiful wrought iron feature from the period and in the style of Louis XIV, which subtly highlights the achievements of the Regence style.

Antique walnut fireplace with Satyr mask

This large antique Napoleon III style fireplace was made out of walnut wood during the 19th century. The detached and twisted columns support a carved entablature, featuring a medallion and foliages. The trumeau mirror is elegantly decorated. The vertical pilasters are decorated with women's masks whereas the upper ledge is decorated with satyr's mask.

Rare antique 17th-century fireback with Satan

This rare antique fireback was made during the 17th century. Two men are supporting an imposing crown and two intertwined banners with inscriptions. The man on the right, with its craggy body and its strong chin with a beard, reminds Satan.

An antique fireback with Minerva, 18th century

Antique fireback from the late 18th century decorated with Minerva. A similar plaque appears in Henri Carpentier's book, "Les plaques de chimées" and is reported as part of the Nicora collection in Paris. Unlike the fireback of the Nicora collection, ours has a key motif and a pair of scissors on both sides of Minerva.

18th century fireback with chinoiserie decoration

Cast iron fireback made in the 18th century with a chinoiserie decoration, after a drawing by François Boucher, showing an emperor being served. The chinoiseries are one of the characteristics of the Louis XV style. Many chinoiseries were designed by Boucher, also adapted to furniture, porcelain.

Napoleon III Fireplace with Clock, musical Putti

Monumental Fireplace with Clock – Musical Putti Carved Carrara marble, Napoleon III period France, circa 1860 This impressive white Carrara marble fireplace is crowned with a domed pediment featuring an allegorical scene of two musician putti in high relief, framing a central clock with a gilded dial. The ensemble is richly carved with vegetal garlands, scrolled acanthus leaves, rosettes, and classic ornamental motifs. The frieze is bordered by classical mouldings and rests on vertical jambs decorated with floral drops and foliage. The original clock dial is in gilt bronze with enamelled Roman numerals and is set into a finely sculpted lion’s head.
