Antique Napoleon III style fireplace with salomonic columns made of Red Marble and Black Marquina Marble

This antique Napoleon III style fireplace was made during the 19th century in Red Marble. The jambs constit of salomonic columns made of Black Marquina Marble with Ionic style capitals. The frieze is sculpted with foliate scrolls and has, on its center, an antique vase garnished with fruits surrounded by two chimeras.

ZSOLNAY Manufacture - "Young woman at the source", vide poche in iridescent ceramic

This Art Nouveau style vide-poche (storage tray) made of iridescent ceramic is from approximately 1900 and signed “Zsolnay Pecs Made in Hungary.” A female figure is leaning down with a jar to collect water. The object's asymmetrical shape, curved outlines, and iridescent ceramic translate the movement, texture, and blueish-green colors of the water. This colorful and original vide-poche belongs to the Art Nouveau movement, an artistic movement from the beginning of the 20th century that wanted to break away from traditional forms and historicist styles from the 19th century. The defenders of the Art Nouveau movement wished to create an art form that included both modernity and a return to nature and its symbols. This vide-poche's modernity is brought by the shine and colors of the iridescent ceramic, and by the object's simple outlines. It also has a very organic, natural side to it, as every aspect helps to recreate the water that the female figure is collecting. As the stamp on the bottom says, this object is from the Zsolnay Factory, a Hungarian ceramics factory founded in 1851 by the merchant Miklos Zsolnay. It first produced simple, useful objects, and in 1865, when Vilmos Zsolnay, Miklos' brother, took over the company, it began creating decorative dishware. It exhibited faience at the World's Fair of 1878 in Paris and obtained a Grand Prize. From the 1890's, the factory also produced architectural ceramics.

A pair of ceramic panels with birds in a lacustrine scenery signed "J. ENGEL"

Important pair of ceramic panels with cloisonned enamels made in the second half of the 19th century. Birds, silver pheasants, butterflies and dragonflies spread out in a lake landscape with water lilies, cherry blossoms, peonies... Bright colors, with beautiful shades of pink and green, animate these panels whose decor is directly inspired by extreme-oriental works of art and vogue for Japanism ( Japonisme ). The cloisonned enamel technique on earthenware which consists of separating the different enamels by a line called "cerne", was invented by ceramist Eugène Collinot and patented by him in 1864. Proof of the success of the cloisonned enamels by Collinot, our panels that use this technique are signed on the back by "J. ENGEL, 31 & 33 rue de la Roquette in Paris".

This beautiful antique parquet flooring was made out of oak and mahogany around 1900. Composed of 60 square panels with marquetry decoration. The square panels are 50 cm x 50 cm. The total area covered is around 15m². The parquet floor has been restored.

Small Louis XVI period trumeau with a Summer allegory in sculpted and painted wood

This small trumeau was made of sculpted wood painted in aqua and white in the late 18th century The small mirror is set in a large frame of which the edges are underlined with white. Elegant ribbon and pearls friezes come to frame the mirror. Above a beautiful allegory of Summer under the form of a trophy was sculpted. We can see in a olive tree branches bouquet held by a ribbon, a bird put on roses and sheaf feeding its nestling, in front of a rake and a scythe.
