Cast iron fireback with a noble couple, 20th century

This cast iron Louis XV style fireback was made in the 20th century. It is adorned with a woman and a man with a clothing appearance that suggests the importance of their social class. The couple is set in a decoration typical of the Louis XV style which one recognizes thanks to the presence of the shell on the canopy that is holding the curtains and the acanthus leaves ornament.

This beautiful fireback was made in the 18th century Squared shape with a semi circle pediment, this fireback is adorned with a typical Louis XV style decoration composed of acanthus leaves, flowers and shell scrolls, framing a woman bust dressed with a ancient tunique and a flowers crown on her hair.

Neo-Gothic Balustrade Element in Gilded and Polychrome Wood, 19th century

This Neo-Gothic balustrade element in gilded and polychromed wood was executed in the 19th century. It is organized in an asymmetrical pattern: on one side, the ornamentation, inspired by Gothic stained-glass windows, unfurls around two quadrilobes with gilded hearts, each surrounded by four trilobes. On the other side, the center is occupied by a quatrefoil set in a circle, with a four-lobed gilded decoration at its center, also surrounded by four trilobes. The balustrade is punctuated by polychrome columns crowned with gilded capitals, highlighted by a vertical groove on either side and surmounted by a small red quatrefoil. This complex ornamentation draws its vocabulary from Gothic architecture, particularly of the 15th century, and more specifically from that of stained glass windows, multiplying openings and complex shapes.

Cast iron fireback dated 1693, decorated with a radiant sun and architectural symbols

Rare plaque de cheminée en fonte moulée, de forme cintrée, datée 1693. Elle est ornée en son centre d’un visage solaire aux rayons stylisés, motif emblématique souvent associé à la royauté et à la lumière. La scène est encadrée par une structure architecturale évoquant un fronton triangulaire reposant sur deux colonnes tournées. À l’intérieur du fronton, on distingue une croix potencée surmontant un globe, éléments à connotation spirituelle ou symbolique. La date 1693 est clairement visible de part et d’autre du globe. Une corde moulurée encadre l’ensemble du décor.
